My wish-list for a desk would be a solid wood piece with lots of storage, but that can come with a hefty price tag. If you are in the market for a more budget-friendly option, there are so many great desks on Amazon. Here are three styles at different price points that would give a clean and simple look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Next we need to create a comfortable set up for your computer. If you are starting with just a laptop, adding a second monitor can be helpful for most work\/projects! You don’t need anything fancy, just decide on the size you want and choose one with a clear picture. Here are some good options to start with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Make sure to check what kind of connection you will need to hook up your new monitor to your laptop. For PC’s, you will most likely need a USB to HDMI cable<\/a> and if you have a newer Apple MacBook you will need a USB C to HDMI cable<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now we need to think ergonomically. What feels better to you – laptop on the desk, head and eyes angled down at the screen? Or laptop elevated with your head straight looking eye level? You might need to test it out to get a feel for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you prefer to have your laptop on the desk, then the monitor can sit to the right or the left – whatever works best for your work flow! You can also get a riser for the monitor to have it sit behind the laptop slightly elevated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And if you like to have your laptop elevated, you can use a laptop stand and add a wireless keyboard and mouse to your set up. Whichever computer set up you choose, I also recommend getting a stand for your phone<\/a> to keep it close but out of the way. It makes it easy to play music, see notifications, or watch videos on the side while working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here are some options for these computer accessories mentioned!<\/p>\n\n\n\n The next step is to add some fun but functional accessories! Some of my personal favorites include – a desk mat, mouse pad, and a small calendar. And of course we need some organizational items as well like a pen holder, office supply organizer, or a paper tray\/organizer. Whatever types of things that seem to clutter up your desk space, we can find an aesthetic way to keep them organized or hidden!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Whenever you have some space to fill on your desk, I like to add a few decor pieces to finish the look of my work area. If you like to keep notes or photos by your desk, a wall-hanging photo display is a great way to fill any wall space and keep clutter off the desk. I also like to add a small clock to help keep track of time for daily appointments. And a jewelry dish to keep any smaller desk items like Airpods, USB drives, chapstick, etc contained. Add in a small plant and your favorite candle to finish off the look!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Last but not least – lighting! If your desk space is lacking in natural light or you like to work late into the night, a good desk lamp is key.
