But once you are clean and fresh faced in the morning, here is where to start! A vitamin C serum will act as the base to your face makeup, and doubles to fight signs of aging and brighten the look of your skin. This TruSkin Vitamin C Serum<\/a> is a great bang for your buck because it includes Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, Organic Aloe Vera and Jojoba Oil (which all help to even out skin tone and texture). If you prefer to use higher-end products, this La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C Face Serum<\/a> is a great option that includes Salicylic Acid to help fight acne as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This step will serve two purposes – SPF and priming. The single most important thing for your skin in the summer is SUNSCREEN. I will not leave the house without some sort of SPF on my face. Obviously it’s not ideal to cover your face in regular sunscreen that’s sticky and smelly, so let’s work it in to your beauty routine! A tried and true drugstore option is the CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion<\/a> with SPF 30. It’s lightweight, fragrance free, provides plenty of sun protection, and works really well as a primer under your makeup. The La Roche-Posay Double Repair UV SPF Moisturizer<\/a> is another wonderful option that has amazing reviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are wanting to add some color or glow to your skin at this priming step, I highly recommend the L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion<\/a>. Just mix it in with your moisturizer of choice and it gives a beautiful allover highlight that shines through your makeup or can be won on its own for a bare face look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I’ve never been a big fan of foundation until I stumbled upon THIS PRODUCT<\/a> on TikTok. The L’Oreal Paris True Match Hyaluronic Tinted Serum Foundation<\/a> is such a game changer if you like a lightweight coverage and don’t want to feel like your face is melting in hot\/humid weather. I love that this is skincare and makeup all in one. The only thing that could make it better is if it also had SPF, like this ILIA – Super Serum Skin Tint with SPF 40<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Less is more when it comes to summer makeup, but both of these options are buildable if you like more of a full-coverage look. The tinted serums are a great every-day look, while your normal foundations are still a staple for a special event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even on light makeup days I still like to use concealer for the undereye and to highlight or cover any blemishes. Sticking with the ‘less is more theme’, a little can go a long way. Let your natural skin shine through as much as possible! I recently tried the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer<\/a> and loved the applicator sponge that blends the product easily. Or you can’t go wrong with the OG fan favorite Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer<\/a> (which is also very buildable for more coverage if needed).<\/p>\n\n\n\n For a fresh face look I would usually leave this step out to keep things simple, but sometimes you want to add just a little dimension for a more put-together look. The key is to stick with cream contour products, stay away from anything too dry that will work against the dewy and hydrated look we are going for. This Palladio BUILD + BLEND Contour Stick<\/a> is a great drugstore option. Just add to the areas you want to add some dark dimension and blend out with a brush. I’ve also been dying to try the FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA Match Stix Matte Skinstick<\/a> and currently have it on my wish list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is also a step I often left out, but found that it is necessary for that fresh, flushed, bright skin look that’s so in right now. As with the contour, you want to stick with cream products for the blush like this Palladio Buildable Lightweight Cream Blush<\/a>, which doubles as a lip tint as well. Apply to the apples of your cheeks, bridge of your nose, and on your lips to give you some fresh color. This Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Cream<\/a> is a similar product if you prefer the compact packaging to the stick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you still feel like you need more color or want to add a more sun-kissed glow, my favorite cream bronzer is the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer<\/a>. Or another OG staple for a powder bronzer is the Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer<\/a>. I like to apply bronzer on the cheeks over the contour, on the temples and top of the forehead, and along the jawline and down the neck to blend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You guessed it, we are going with cream highlighter as well! I recently fell in love with this COVERGIRL Clean Fresh cooling glow stick<\/a> that literally feels like a drink of water for your face. It is cool to the touch and goes on so smooth and creamy. This is my favorite product to use on ‘no makeup’ days to add a subtle brightness on top of my tinted moisturizer. The Winky Lux | Cheeky Rose Cream Highlighter<\/a> is also another favorite for a brighter highlight over foundation or tinted serum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We have all seen the fluffy brow or laminated brow look take off recently – we have come a long way from the days of over-plucking! If you are into the full brow style then this NYX PROFESSIONAL Brow Glue<\/a> has been the best product I have tried to lock your brows in place all day long. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are like me and need to fill in some thinner areas of your brows as well, I highly recommend splurging for the Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Wiz<\/a> eyebrow pencil. I have tried many other drugstore options to save a few bucks, but I always end up coming back to Anastasia Beverly Hills because it is just that good. Perfect color, easy to blend into your natural brow, and does not budge or smudge AT ALL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n **Bear with me – I know this seems like a lot of steps, but they can be done very quickly once you get the routine down!**<\/p>\n\n\n\n You will want to use minimal eyeshadow (if any) for this glowy summer look. Stick with peachy pink or gold shades all over the lid to and a white\/light highlighting shade in the corner of the eye and just under the brow to add some color and shine. If you are in need of a new palette, this NYX PROFESSIONAL Ultimate Shadow Palette<\/a> has some pretty warm neutral shades and is very blendable. For a golden glow, this Urban Decay Naked Honey Eyeshadow Palette<\/a> is also a great investment – amazing pigment and these palettes last forever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n I’m a fan of bare lashes with a fresh glowy face and bushy brows, so this step is definitely optional! The best lash primer and mascara duo I have tried is the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Primer & Mascara Kit<\/a>. A very similar product in a high-end brand is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara<\/a> which you can get for a great price on Amazon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are typically an eyeliner fan, I recommend a cream eyeliner along the lash line and corner of the eyes. You can blend it out to create a softer look while still adding some definition along the lash line. This Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner Pencil<\/a> comes with a sponge on the end of the pencil to easily smudge and blend out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And since I was a long-time lash extension fanatic, I have to include these at-home false lashes that have quickly become a great affordable alternative. I started off using the FlutterHabit<\/a> lashes (which are great and last for a week), but they also have many great drugstore options that work just as well. This KISS Falscara DIY Lash Extension Starter Kit<\/a> is a great place to start if you are a beginner with the DIY lash extension. These typically last a day or two with proper application, and they hold up very well even in heat and water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ditch the lip liner and lipstick for the summer, all you need is a tinted lip oil or gloss! The COVERGIRL Vitalist Healthy Elixir Lip Oil<\/a> gives a beautiful berry pink tint and keeps your lips hydrated. For a little longer lasting shine, a gloss like the ILIA – Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil<\/a> is another great option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Even though this is the last step, it is probably the most important. Once all your makeup is done, you will want to spray generously with a setting spray like the Maybelline Facestudio Master Fix Wear-Boosting Setting Spray<\/a>. This product is a super cheap drugstore option, but the Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray<\/a> is also a fan favorite with raving reviews. The key here is to drench your face in product and let it dry completely to set everything in place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Once dry you will want to top it off with a loose setting powder like the affordable Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder<\/a> or splurge for the Anastasia Beverly Hills – Loose Setting Powder<\/a>. Dab with a brush or a makeup sponge under the eyes, on the chin and forehead, or any other areas that typically get oily.
